Essential Grammar in Use is a grammar reference and practice book for elementary learners. Modelled on Raymond Murphy`s highly successful intermediate level English Grammar in Use, it concentrates on areas of grammar normally taught at elementary level.

Кроме всем известного учебного пособия Р.Мёрфи, называемого в просторечии "синим Мёрфи" (по цвету обложки) English Grammar in Use. - Английская грамматика на практике (практическая) существует и очень похожее учебное пособие того же автора, называемое в просторечии "красный Мёрфи" (по цвету обложки) - его мы здесь и рассматриваем Essential Grammar in Use. - Начальная/Базовая грамматика на практике (практическая).

Это пособие внешне построено точно так же, как и "English Grammar in Use" : каждый урок - разворот страницы: слева теория, справа упражнения (ответы в конце книги), но, как явствует из названия, предназначено для начинающих, поэтому темы занятий здесь немного другие.

Издание состоит из 114 уроков, 7-ми приложений и ключей. К каждому уроку есть свой отдельный аудиоролик с записью всех фраз, приводимых на левой странице (теория). Это не грамматика в чистом виде (как и весь Мёрфи), а лишь абсолютно необходимая практика для усвоения и закрепления полученных знаний, поэтому не забудьте, что хорошую, подробную грамматику Вам все равно надо иметь у себя.

Трудно найти учащегося, который бы с удовольствием читал раздел упражнения.

Тем не менее настоятельно рекомендую после знакомства с каждой страничкой "теория" переходить сразу же к правой страничке "практика". Предположим, что у нас книга в формате pdf или djvu. В идеале конечно хорошо делать задания письменно, но попробуем их делать хотя бы устно. Чтобы не "метаться" из одного конца книги в другой (за ответами) сразу же открываем книгу еще раз и находим ответы к данному, конкретному уроку. Читаем вопрос, пробуем ответить, переходим ко второму экземпляру открытой нами книги и смотрим правильный ответ. И совершенно нисколько не смущаемся, что в 90% случаев нам без помощи не обойтись, и почти все наши ответы не верны. Отработали урок, переходим к следующему и т.д. Мы же учимся, а значит через неделю, другую снова вернемся сюда, бегло просмотрим теорию, перейдем опять на страничку упражнения и, можете не сомневаться, Вы сможете вспомнить и правильно ответить уже почти на половину вопросов. А после третьего захода на данный урок Вы, скорей всего, уже поймете, что практически весь материал усвоен, и возвращаться более к этому уроку уже незачем.
